A faceless post in a huge public forum may feel anonymous. It is not private. Thousands can view without interacting, while a few collect clues. Masque changes who carries the burden: members can remain publicly pseudonymous, but every participating adult is privately verified to Masque and accountable to the rules.

Why accountability matters
Verification does not make bad intent disappear. It makes an account harder to treat as disposable and gives reports, sanctions, and ban-evasion controls something durable to follow.

Check reflections, windows, mail, landmarks, tattoos, audio, metadata, and reused usernames before posting.
People-search sites may connect one name or phone number to old addresses, work history, property, and relatives. Opt out where possible and check again later.
Preserve evidence, stop direct engagement, tell someone you trust, and use specialist help. Eligibility for removal tools varies, especially for commercial content.
No website can stop every screenshot, camera capture, or determined bad actor. Verification cannot read intent. Masque uses layered controls to make abuse harder to carry out, harder to escape, and easier to act on.
Photo and video sharing is still closed while the delivery pipeline is certified. Recipient-specific forensic fingerprinting is a required future protection, not a live claim. It will use a protected random delivery reference, never a raw IP address hidden inside an image.
Masque is free to join and use for verified adults. It puts a verified door, a public mask, consent controls, and an evidence-backed response path between every member and the people asking for access. Creator tools can be added without giving up that member experience.
